Oh and of course floating cars, cars driving in air, cars spawning in each other causing explosions, cars spawning and driving in reverse (original bug from 2004) and lots of random issues similar to this all around the game. Some missions have desynced cutscenes, where audio is late. ![]() You see subtitles but no sound, or other way around.Īudio in radio stations have a tendency to cut-off and suddenly start playing next song. Some missions have missing audio dialogue. You need to use a different bug to force complete a date by going into a gym. They stick with you and date wont end unless you kill them. That being said - lots of bugs, few of which actually prevent normal completion of some missions.Įxample are girlfriend dates - if you take them on a food date afterwards game soft locks. ![]() I was able to finish 100% of it including all achievments. Out of the 3 remasters GTA SA is the least improved one of the bunch. After waiting a few months for patches to be applied I decided to give it a shot as it was on sale. This one sucks.Īs most people I've heard in advance how horrible the definitive edition is for all 3 games and not to bother playing it. TL DR: If you want to play GTA San Andreas, just play the classic. If it didn't, there is absolutely no chance I would have played this as much as I did. It also has achievements, which unfortunately the classic version does not. Like the neon lights of Las Venturas at night. Just so I wasn't completely negative about this game, sometimes the lighting looked okay. It's very hard to recommend this game, and it's even harder to call it the definitive way to play GTA San Andreas. On its own, things like these aren't that big of an issue, but when these issues didn't exist in an almost 20 year old version of the game. Visually, that sucks, but while collecting Oysters, I actually fell through one of these tears, so unfortunately it's not just a visual issue. That's without me even touching on all of the tears in the map, I genuinely lost count of the amount of times ground textures were not aligned correctly, resulting in a glimpse into the abyss of nothing. So anytime I wanted to change radio station, I would put my landing gear down, or using flares in the hydra, would also fire machine guns. ![]() ![]() There are even some bizarre choices, like removing the ability to rebind certain keys for aircrafts. Would you like to look anywhere but straight ahead for 2 seconds while? Not happening, buddy. The camera controls in vehicles is an absolute mess, would you like to look up or down? Too bad. It's genuinely impressive that this 'remaster' managed to break as many things as it did. The quality of these models is nothing to write about either, with most of the character models looking very similar to an assessment for 3D characters I submitted when I was in animation school, and that is not boasting on my part, I did not do well in that assessment. Which results in the straight up breaking of some of the models. It feels in their attempt to smooth out the jagged edges of the 2004 models involved opening them up in Maya, and hitting 3 to smooth out the mesh. If I ever get the urge to play San Andreas again (Give it a year), I'm just going to play the Classic version. I just spent roughly 40 hours to 100% this game, and I can pretty safely say I don't think I'll play this again.
